Robert Bradford Park begins its 6th year of operation

Robert Bradford Park on Hwy 73 officially opened its gates to the public four years ago on April 1. Bradford Park sits on 213 acres on Hwy 73 just east of Ramah Church Road in Huntersville, NC. Bradford Park has 5 softball fields, 3 soccer fields, a 18-hole disc golf course, 2 playgrounds, 2 shelters and restroom facilities.

Bradford Park has become one of the most used parks in Mecklenburg County. Since its opening on April 1, 2009 the park has accommodated more than 1.2 million visitors. During that same time period the park has hosted more than 150 tournaments that were attended by more than 3,000 teams. More than 2,300 baseball and softball games are played at Bradford Park every year as well as hundreds of soccer games. The 18-hole disc golf course played host to the World Disc Golf Championships last summer. Other high profile tournaments that have been hosted at this park are the National Softball Association Girl’s Fast Pitch World Series, Nations Baseball World Series as well as the NC State Games. In 2010, Bradford Park was awarded the Outstanding Park Award from the National Softball Association. The addition of Bradford Park has allowed our local youth programs to grow as well as our adult softball leagues. Bradford Park also serves as the home field for many of our local schools who do not have their own facilities. Bradford Park has also become a tremendous asset as it has become a hub for tournaments that bring in millions of dollars in economic impact every year.

Bradford Park was jointly developed by the Town of Huntersville and Mecklenburg County. The Town of Huntersville is responsible for operating and managing the park and leases the park land from Mecklenburg County. The Town of Davidson is an operational partner.
